The vision of Eternal Life Mission Church is to see God's Kingdom come, His will be done in our homes, communities, and the world.

The mission of Eternal Life Mission Church is to make disciples who live out the Gospel in word and deed.

Our church is a part of the Korean American Presbyterian Church and under the North American Presbytery

We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His covenant promises.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

*We also subscribe to the Westminster Standards (the Confession of Faith, Larger and Shorter Catechism).

REV. Dr. Steven Jo
Lead Pastor

Steven is not your average second generation Korean-American pastor. He was born and raised in the projects of Brooklyn NY, has a background in air traffic control, holds a master’s degree in divinity and a Ph.D in biblical hermeneutics, and is an ordained minister in the KAPC. Actually, the only thing normal about him is his wife Goeun “Grace,” and sometimes his three boys, Caleb, Oliver, and Brooklyn.

Suburban Philadelphia is definitely an acquired taste. It took some time for me to get used to. But I realize wherever you go the need for the gospel is the same. People are the same. The local church will always be the place where the gifts and powers of the kingdom of God are granted and received (H. Ridderbos). Philly is now home and the place where I worship and serve the Triune God.

There are still some things I can never disavow. My loyalty to the 90’s Giants, Ewing-led Knicks, Linsanity Knicks, Lebron almost to the Knicks Knicks, and the New York Metropolitans. I am hoping my strong distaste for all Philly sports teams will be won over by my love for Philly fans.

“On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

rev. Walton k. Lee
Executive Pastor

Walton is a Philadelphia native and grew up in Yuong Sang Presbyterian Church. He studied Exercise Science & Psychology at University of the Sciences and graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. He is married to Gloria Lim and has three children, Timothy, JJ and Anna Joy.

Driven by the Gospel and focused on the Kingdom, he is passionate about preaching and living life with the church and the community.

I love anything that captures the broken pieces of our stories and weaves it into the bigger narrative of God’s redemption and restoration: music, lyrics, stories - movies, pictures, painting - watches, windows, seasons - sweat, sports, broken bones - cooking, food, and sweet endings.

JOHN LEE
MISSION LEADER

John was born in San Diego but grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended Yuong Sang Presbyterian Church most of his life. He received a degree in Human Resource Management at Temple University. He is the oldest of three brothers.

John received a call to missions early in middle school after realizing that the gospel was the most precious news he ever received and later got a more specific call to Cambodia after going on a short-term mission trip with ELMC in 2014. He is currently serving in Cambodia as a long-term missionary.

In his free time, John likes cooking, sports (bouldering, volleyball, football), and playing board games.

Service Times

ELMC: 9:30am

Youth Group: 9:30am, 11:45am

Directions

ELMC meets in the center chapel through the main entrance.

Youth Group meets in the small chapel at the left wing of the church.

Where do I park?

Our English service meets at the same time as the Korean service, so parking at the church can get pretty crazy. We encourage you get to the church about 10-15 minutes before service begins to get the best parking spot you can. There are friendly volunteers on site who direct the flow of the traffic into the church. As you enter the parking lot, please drive safely and slowly as there are children and the elderly.

ELMC provides two soundproof rooms with a view of worship: one for nursing mothers and the other for families with young children. Yuong Sang Church also provides the following child care ministries. Please speak with the greeters about the location for each ministry.
